The Best Hen Party Ice Breakers of 2026
Ok ladies, you’ve done the hard part, you’ve planned the hen do. The hen party have gathered together in your favourite city (or the best location for a hen party) and you’re all excited for the next few days of fun. But wait, there’s a small issue; you only know half the group! As a Brit, the thought of awkward silences in a room of strangers is the stuff of nightmares, but luckily we have ice breakers to solve this problem. But what games could I possibly play with a hen party, I hear you say? Look no further, I reply, as below there are of the best hen party ice breakers I’ve tested in 2026.
1. Guess Who
A simple but fun little game that requires nothing (except maybe paper and pens, or a phone). The game revolves around anecdotes; each party member must submit a fact or anecdote about themselves that none one else would know (this can be solved via an anonymous google form, or even pen and paper and a bowl). Then you take turns reading them out and guess who is who based on the anecdote. Because people who know each other have to be really obscure to pick something not known it can actually become a tricky little game, and you’ll also get to know everyone a little better before heading out!
2. Bride Trivia
A similar idea to ‘guess who’, except this one revolves around the bride! As she is the one person everyone will know, she’s the subject for everyone! You would appoint a quiz master (it could even be the bride herself) and you would all try and answer questions about her and and her life! You could do this individually if you’re a small group, or if you have a big group of hens, then you can work this in a few different ways. What we like to do is split people in groups based on when they met the bride and how long they’ve known the bride. From there it’s a case of seeing which group does the best! Hopefully the groups will be a mix of different histories with the bride, so everyone will find something to talk about.
3. Dingbats
Have you heard of Dingbats? In the office, we love it! Very similar to the ancient game of Catchphrase popular in the way back times of the 90’s, Dingbats is the champion of ‘say what you see’. Fortunately they are super easy to make (you can even grab them fully made online), and are great fun for everyone, and can be a great way to get the group talking to one another. Get everyone into groups and get them guessing at a bunch of wedding-themed Dingbats. I’ll leave an example below and you can guess before I put the answer at the bottom of the post.
4. Toilet roll dress
This has become a bit of a classic in the last few years as a hen party. It’s as you’d expect: you make a dress out of toilet roll. There are a few ways you can do this; you can all collectively get the bride in the most extravagant amount of toilet roll possible to make a fabulous dress (best for a small hen party) or you can split into teams and nominate a bride for each team. One roll each, best dress wins it all!
5. Prosecco pong
This one kind of speaks for itself. It’s beer pong but with prosecco! A slightly more sophisticated, but also much more deadly game than it’s beer equivalent – fill some cups with equal amounts of prosecco (it doesn’t have to be the red plastic ones, but for authenticities sake they look best) and grab your ping pong balls. You can do this in head to heads, or in teams, but this one is best as an additional to any other activity, or at least before you hit the town! Expect screaming, groans, tears and a few tipsy hens by the end of this one (because what’s a good hen party otherwise).
